• MMMA Breaks Ground

    Key representatives during the lowering of time capsule

     

     

    The MOL-Magsaysay Maritime Academy finally breaks ground on March 8, 2016 at Brgy. Salitran, Dasmarinas City.


    The event which was hosted by the contracting partner, SMCC Phils. Inc, started at 8:30 AM and ended around 10:00 AM.

     

    Key persons attended the ceremony namely; Doris Ho - President of Magsaysay Group; Koichi Muto - MOL Chairman; Eduardo Manese - MMC Chairman; Masaaki Nemoto - MOL Senior Managing Executive Officer; Marlon Rono - MMC President.

     

    Local representatives were also present during the program including  Congressman Elpidio Barzaga of Dasmarinas City.

    The program started by an invocation followed by the welcoming address of Rono, COO of MIS.

     

    Afterwhich, messages were given by Ho, Muto, Manese and Barzaga.

     

    Time Capsule was then lowered and burried, then the ceremonial blessing of the soil was conducted and finally a toast was given by Nemoto.

     

    The shouting of the safety slogan of SMCC concluded the program.

     

     

    The MMMA, as an expansion of the Magsaysay Institute of Shipping (MIS), is set to meet the increasing demand for competent and skilled seafarers. With a total of 13.2 ha site area, this project is envisioned to be the leading maritime institution in the Philippines and the Asia-Pacific region. The project is set to open its doors on June 2018.
